First Grade

Mrs. Magnuson

Room 406

Hello! I am so glad you are here. I am so excited to get to be apart of your child's life. Please remember we are a partnership and together we will make it a great year for your child!

My husband and I

A little background...

I have been teaching since 2012. I grew up in Aurora, IL and graduated from Western Illinois University. I started my teaching career in North Carolina teaching first grade which was a wonderful experience! But I moved back to Illinois to be close to family again. I continued teaching first grade in Naperville, District 204 for until 2019. During my time there I also earned my Masters in Reading Instruction.

I absolutely love teaching and my passion for education has only grown over the years. I truly enjoy teaching first grade as well. This is the year these students grow so much and learn so much. It is so rewarding to reflect at the end of each year at how far your children have come. It is the best reward.

A little personal background about myself...

I enjoy spending my time with family and friends. I have one sister in Maryland and the other in North Carolina so I try to get out to see them as much as I can. I also have a brother who lives nearby. I love spending as much time outdoors as I can during the warm months only..;) My husband and I love to go on camping trips and finding new places to hike. My husband is also a teacher so it's nice we have the same time off to travel together. We also love to go out to eat and explore new restaurants.
